SOAEP Students:

As stated in a previous blog post and Canvas announcement, please make sure to park your vehicle inside FAU’s gated lot when attending the live lectures on Saturdays. However, on certain Saturdays, the City of Ft. Lauderdale blocks the road to FAU’s entrance due to special events at the park which is nearby FAU’s building. When this happens, you will have no choice but to park in the city’s parking garage located just north of the regular lot.

We will give students who attend classes on-campus a one-day FAU parking placard to use as an emergency when the road to FAU’s entrance is blocked. The parking placard is good only for the 7th floor of the city’s parking garage. If you choose to park on levels 1 through 6, you will have to pay at the meters. If you choose to park on level 7, the parking placard needs to be correctly displayed. Please see the back of the parking placard for instructions on how to use it.

If you receive a citation due to improper parking, you will be responsible for paying the citation yourself.

For the next few Saturdays, the coordinator on duty will give out one parking placard per student to use only as an emergency for this semester. There will be a form for you to sign in order to receive the parking placard.

When the road is not blocked, please make sure to park your vehicle inside the normal, 1st floor gated lot. You can open the gate with your Owl Card or press the button at the gate for assistance. Also, please make sure to register your vehicle with the FAU’s parking system if you have not already done so (instructions were previously emailed to you).

Thank you.
